Privacy Policy

Knowsy does not ask who you are. There is no email, no password and no social login. You open the app and play. Everything below describes the small amount of data that does exist, and why.

1. What we collect

An anonymous account. On first launch we create a random identifier so your squads and purchases survive a reinstall. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or contacts, because we never receive those.

A country code. Two letters, once, at signup — taken from your device settings, and replaced by your app store’s country if you subscribe. We use it to understand which markets the game works in. We do not collect GPS or any finer location.

Purchase state. Whether a subscription is active, and whether a payment is currently being retried. This comes from Apple or Google via RevenueCat. We never see your card.

What you type in. A display name and avatar if you set one, the answers and guesses inside a Squad round, and the text of any card report you send us. A display name is visible to people in your squad — that is the point of it.

Product analytics and crash reports. Which screens are used and what breaks, tied to the anonymous identifier.

2. What we do not collect

No contacts. No photo library. No precise location. No advertising identifier. There is no advertising SDK in the app, and we do not sell or share personal information with data brokers.

Party cards are never sent anywhere. That room runs entirely on your device, offline, with no account — so what a group plays in Party is not observable by us at all.

3. Who processes it

Supabase (database and anonymous auth), RevenueCat (subscription state), Apple and Google (payments), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), and on this website, Vercel and Google Analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do that job.

4. Who can see your data

Other players see your display name and avatar, and — only once a round has closed — the answers and guesses in that round. They cannot see your email (we have none), your country, your subscription status, or anything else on your account. That boundary is enforced by the database itself rather than by the app being careful.

5. Children

Knowsy is rated for teenagers and older, and contains no alcohol, tobacco or drug references of any kind. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Keeping and deleting it

We keep your account while you use it. You can delete it at any time — from Settings in the app, or at knowsy.games/delete-account. Deletion removes your profile, your squad membership, and your answers. Records we are legally required to keep, such as a purchase receipt held by Apple or Google, are outside our control.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to object to how it is processed. Write to saad@8x.social and we will answer. Because the account is anonymous, we may need you to act from inside the app to prove it is yours.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect, not only here.
